Job Description

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 
The LL.M. Associate supports the mission of Baylor University by providing administrative and logistical support for the LL.M. Program. More specifically, the LL.M. Associate is responsible for the organization, coordination, and scheduling of the LL.M. program. This is a full-time, one-year, temporary position starting in April 2024.
A Juris Doctor degree, less than one year of experience, and an active Christian faith are required.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • Ability to manage a heavy workload and handle competing deadlines in a work environment involving many interruptions.
  • Analyze and review guidelines, policies, and procedures to determine appropriate solutions to problems and/or questions. 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and to work collaboratively.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and skills, and willingness to complete regular training for all systems used regularly. 
  • Ability to comply with university policies. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain schedule/calendar for all online courses, including the proposed schedule by which candidates should work through the courses. 
  • Coordinate all online synchronous sessions in the various courses to avoid conflicts between course schedules and to protect against an unintentional overload of synchronous sessions in any week.
  • Serve as primary liaison between LL.M. candidates and faculty, to address questions and coordinate responses as needed, requiring an in-depth understanding of the objectives, materials, and practices in the program.
  • Responsible for ensuring all logistics of on-campus residential sessions and orientations are properly organized and coordinated, to include - course sessions, technology needs, Baylor Law room reservations, catering, extracurricular activities, assisting faculty or candidates with travel logistics to campus, etc.
  • Oversee team of J.D. research assistants who conduct research for candidates and LL.M. faculty. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
  • Ability to comply with university policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
