The Laboratory Research Technician will conduct experiments and assist in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. The incumbent will assist in research focused on understanding the genomic and molecular control of B cell dynamics and antibody responses in mice and humans. The incumbent will be provided the opportunity to work independently on their own research project as well as assist/collaborate with senior lab members. This will involve learning to design and plan experimental protocols, conduct molecular biological, biochemical, and genomic experiments. The position will require learning and applying an array of cutting-edge and basic experimental techniques, such as CRISPRi/a, flow cytometry, multiplexed screening and multimodal genomics. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science and/or Master of Science in biology or a related field and have experience with cell culture and basic molecular/cell biology techniques.



Job Summary

Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.

  •  Keeps clear, organized, and detailed records of experiments and protocols.
  •  Assists with lab upkeep and compliance including ordering/organizing of supplies.

  • Physical Effort 

          The position requires the ability to sit/stand at a laboratory bench for extended periods of time.    Although infrequent, the position will occasionally require    moving heavy boxes or equipment.
