Job Summary
Office of Tax and Revenue Services is seeking to fill an Information Research Tech 2 vacancy.
The Information Research Tech 2 advises students on financial transactions, acts as a Bursar’s Office liaison, provides guidance to prospective students, handles cash transactions, and assists with administrative tasks, including coding and billing. They also help with housing information, installment plans, technical support, and refund appeals. The Information Research Tech 2 serves as the front office representative and performs additional assigned duties.
All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of university admissions, registration, fee payment, and student accounts.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs including Microsoft Office/Windows and internet browsers.
  • Knowledge of university financial procedures, Title IV, FERPA, and financial data security policies.
  • Knowledge of other university policies, procedures, structure and services offered.
  • Knowledge of Banner student, finance, financial aid and accounts receivable modules.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to groups or individuals.
  • Ability to counsel students and parents regarding financial matters.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies fairly and consistently.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations.
  • Ability to perform research.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • One (1) or more years of cashier experience in a high-volume setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • One or more years of work experience in a higher education environment.
