Events Coordinator Sr
Job Description
Under the Assistant Director of Events direction, the Events Coordinator Sr is responsible for coordinating, supervising, scheduling, planning and implementing signature internal events for the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law Programs and Centers. This position will focus on planning, execution and support of these events to ensure everything runs smoothly in adherence to the goals, mission and standards of college. This position will also supervise the Events Coordinator role. This position requires a flexible work schedule in order to coordinate and attend evening and weekend events.

Salary Range
$55,000 - $65,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties
- Coordinate and implement large and small scale, high profile activities and programs, such as lectures, luncheons, conferences and other various events as assigned for ASU Law with internal units.
- Coordinate all event logistics, such as event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes.
- Attend and ensure all aspects of events are implemented and controlled according to plans.
- Create and adhere to event timelines and budgets and coordinate requests for facilities, venues, service personal, catering, audio/visual, etc
- Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order.
- Work with the ASU Law Technology department on coordination, assistance, setup, management and strike of various audio/visual aspects of events.
- Work with ASU Law Marketing & Communications team on event communications.
- Assist Assistant Director of Events with large scale, high profile events, such as the O’Connor Justice Prize Dinner and Graduations.
- Advise on event budgets.
- Supervise Events Coordinator role.
- Maintain appropriate supervisory actions, including completing and staying up to date with supervisor training, conducting EDGE conversations quarterly with all direct reports, conferring with HR as needed.
- Maintain the ASU College Calendar, room scheduling system (EMS) and event registrations.
- Work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed.
- Physical presence at the workplace or the college is an essential function or requirement of the job.
- Assume other roles and responsibilities, as needed, to achieve the strategic goals and priorities of ASU Law and ASU.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field AND three years of facility and/or service administration and coordination experience; OR, seven years of progressively responsible experience in facility and/or service administration and coordination; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in planning, programming or coordination of events (5 years).
- Experience in supervising (2 years)
- Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic audio/visual equipment elements.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedules that go beyond Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
- Experience with time management and prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience in work that requires organizational skills and attention to details.
- Evidence of strong decision-making skills and taking the initiative.
- Evidence of strong/professional customer service and positive client relationship skills.
- Experience adapting to change and the ability to handle pressure and make good decision quickly.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions. Use standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor and mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
