JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Director of the College of Medicine plans, implements, and directs the administrative and fiscal functions of the Office of Faculty Affairs and the administrative functions in the Office of Access and Engagement in the College of Medicine. This position serves as central resource on all faculty related matters in the College of Medicine academic units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Defines performance expectations for all financial and administrative functions for the offices of Faculty Affairs and Office of Access and Engagement in the College of Medicine in collaboration with college senior, associate dean, and other leaders.

  • Advises and consults with associate deans on strategic and operational planning issues related to faculty hiring and development; analyzes operations and opportunities for future direction and/or improvement in faculty recruiting.

  • Directs and processes tasks related to faculty support, compensation, budgeting, purchasing, payments, contracts, and other administrative duties.

  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and university policies associated with faculty hiring and promotion.

  • Collaborates with offices of Admissions, Student Affairs, Medical Education, GME, Staff and Alumni to align administrative functions for Faculty Affairs and Access and Engagement.

  • Participates on interdepartmental committees to address problems, identify, and share best practices, and facilitate information exchange; prepares and presents operational reports.

  • Strategizes with upper-level college leaders to maximize best use of resources for faculty hiring and retention.

  • Establishes and maintains service standards and metrics for responsible departments and monitors over time.

  • Participates in assigned committees, trains college staff, and review/develop correspondence for the Executive Dean as needed for Faculty Affairs duties.

  • Review and edits College of Medicine bylaws as needed.

  • Manages administrative coordinators.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
