Position Announcement

Under the direction of the Assistant Art Director and Art Director, graphic designers are tasked designing and creating printed materials for various uses throughout the university. Assists in designing and producing professional layouts for university publications both for departments and the university as a whole. Helps maintain and solidify the university’s brand, contributes to the graphics production of the alumni magazine and other university and departmental marketing materials. Assists the project manager in the maintenance of the university archive by updating projects and content, as they are completed. Designs and produces digital content for university campaigns.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Designing and creating printed materials for various uses throughout the university.
  • Designing and producing professional layouts for university publications.
  • Maintains the university’s brand, contributes to the graphics production of the alumni magazine and other university marketing materials. 
  • Assists in the maintenance of the university archive by updating projects and content.


Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and one year experience related to Class Definition or an associate's degree with three years experience or any combination of education and experience totaling five years.


Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge    

  • Knowledge of graphic design and the creative process.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of digital publishing applications such as After Effects and/or editing programs, including Premier or Final Cut Pro, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of web design applications, including UX/UI.
Skills    
  • Skills in the use of personal computers and related software applications, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator on a Mac platform.
  • Skills in interpersonal communication, problem-solving and decision-making.
Abilities    
  • Ability to prepare quality printed promotional/communication materials.
  • Ability to produce professional illustrations using various mediums.
  • Ability to use a digital camera.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and archive files and records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
