Required Degree: BA, BS, BFA degree in Animation is required. Preference give if relevant degree(s) is in entertainment design, game design or illustration.  

MA, MS or MFA degree is preferred.  The required degree must be completed by the start date.

 

Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration. Must be willing to teach the course(s) in person, on campus.

 

Experience:Experience with character design, presenting material, communicating with college-level students. Knowledge of how design decisions influence character design outcomes. Professional experience in fields relevant to character design in games, film, or TV. Teaching experience at the college/university level is desired.

 

Duties/Expectations: Teach undergraduate courses (DESAN 361R Character Design) on a part-time basis for the animation area in the Department of Design using department-approved curriculum. The position will require lecturing, creating assignments, grading, critiques, communicating/responding to student emails. Part-time faculty are not required to hold office hours, attend staff meetings, serve on committees, or mentor students.
