Job Summary
Manage multiple large, complicated construction projects up to $10,000,000. Assure projects are completed on schedule, in accordance with contract specifications and UTA standards, provide day to day project quality control, document and maintain accurate construction project records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interacts with design team, contractors, construction inspectors and other university personnel to satisfy requirements of all parties involved during preparation for and execution of construction.
  • Maintains logs for contractor’s submittals, RFI’s and change order proposals.
  • Assists in responding to contractor’s RFI’s and construction submittals.
  • Function as group Administrator for implementation and strict adherence to the use of adopted Project Management software (PlanGrid, E-Builder) by both the design team and JOC’s.
  • Coordinate final punch list walks with users, contractors and UT Arlington support groups.
  • Acquire project acceptance from users and process project closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate and conduct on-site, pre-cost estimate meeting and pre-construction meetings with users, contractors and UT Arlington support departments.
  • Coordinate and conduct adequate project meetings to ensure schedules and budgets are being maintained and end users are thoroughly informed of current and future project status.
  • Performs other duties assigned including response to both project related and general campus emergencies, before/ during/after normal hours of operation.
  • Must be able to identify the problem, plan for the appropriate action, communicate severity and resolve the problem.
  • Drive a UTA owned vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of experience in construction project management, construction administration or construction coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) years of experience in construction project management, construction administration or construction coordination.
  • Significant experience developing and maintaining accurate project documentation.
  • Significant experience developing project schedules and managing and maintaining project budgets.
  • MS Office Suite, MS Project, excel, PlanGrid, other project management software such as E-Builder, overall solid understanding of the design and construction process both in the field and documentation thereof.

Working Conditions
  • This position requires a careful balance of daily office responsibilities mixed with various construction site attendance needs.
  • May work in all weather conditions.
  • May work around project related chemical fumes, biohazards, electrical and mechanical.
  • May involve strenuous activities such as lifting and moving of materials, climbing ladders, and performing duties while wearing fall protection and respiratory protection.
