Clinical Research Supervisor 2 (CLIN RSCH SUPV 2)
Job Summary
The CRC Supervisor position will coordinate several clinical research projects in the Burn Surgery division. Position requires advanced level knowledge and skills, as evidenced by certification in the field. Incumbent independently coordinates and is accountable for the overall administration and outcome of multiple clinical studies. Coordination is varied and may include FDA regulated drug or device studies, including Phase I, II, Ill and IV clinical trials, investigator-initiated protocols, and government funded research including DoD funded multicenter clinical trials managed by UCO. Duties include: 1) coordinate clinical research subjects to maintain adherence with study timelines and protocols, 2) facilitate participants' participation including recruitment and screening, and 3) collect, enter and submit study data as well as addressing all data queries efficiently and accurately. This includes study start up and close out procedures. assistance with financial aspects of clinical trials, FDA documents, HIPAA compliance. source documents and CRFs, scheduling of study visits, laboratory specimen processing and shipping, and facilitating monitoring visits, etc. This individual will also be responsible for IRB preparation and submission, REDCap database development and management, interfacing with diverse populations and across varied disciplines and health professionals while also maintaining patient confidentiality and following good clinical practice. Responsibilities include participation In the Burn Data Coordinating Center where multicenter trials are centrally managed and data is submitted from multiple burn centers across the US and Canada. This position is grant funded.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in direct contact with patients in clinical research environment.
  • Experience with ethical principles and federal and state regulations governing the participation of human subjects in biomedical research (i.e.. GCP guidelines, HIPAA, institutional policies and SOPs for human subject research.
  • Experience monitoring and data collection procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
  • Previous experience as CRC or Sr. CRC.
  • Experience and understanding of implications specific to patient populations impacted by massive injury preferred (i.e. unplanned traumatic hospital admission).

The Department of Surgery encompasses a wide variety of surgical specialties. These include bariatric surgery, burn surgery, colorectal surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, endocrine surgery, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, transplant surgery, trauma, acute care and surgical critical care surgery, vascular surgery, and oncologic surgery. The Department's extensive surgical expertise, in combination with ongoing teaching and research activities, provide ample resources and advanced surgical techniques for patient care.
