Job Description:

The University of Florida’s Human Resources Department is seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking professional with experience in leadership program development and facilitation, change management, and strategic planning to lead a team of leadership and organizational development specialists within UFHR’s Training and Organizational Development (T&OD) team. T&OD’s purpose is to improve the performance of UF employees, leaders, and teams and it is committed to helping to create a culture of care, opportunity, and excellence at UF.

This position leads UFHR Training and Organizational Development team members in the design and delivery of UF’s leadership and organizational development programs—which includes the range of formal and informal leadership development opportunities such as university-wide leadership development programs, resources, and leadership coaching as well as the range of organizational development work such as strategic planning and supporting university-wide change initiatives.
This position oversees the work of a team of leadership and organizational development professionals, providing feedback and guidance to the team as needed, overseeing the program and service delivery process for the team, and providing both strategic direction. This position works closely with campus partners and stakeholders.

Overall, the role requires strong leadership, administrative, and communication skills and the ability to facilitate individual and organizational growth.

  • Team Leadership: The ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of professionals. This includes setting team goals, providing feedback, and guiding team members to ensure the successful design and delivery of leadership and organizational development programs.
  • Program Development: Expertise in developing leadership and organizational development programs and content. This includes conducting needs analysis, designing curriculum, and creating materials to support learning and development initiatives.
  • Facilitation and Presentation Skills: Strong skills in facilitating leadership development courses and programs. This involves effectively presenting content, engaging participants, and managing group dynamics to ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Strategic Planning and Change Management: The ability to facilitate strategic planning processes and lead change management initiatives. This includes guiding departments through planning retreats, helping to develop strategic plans, and supporting university-wide change initiatives.
  • Leadership Coaching: Providing one-on-one coaching and consultation to faculty and staff in leadership roles. This includes administering 360-degree assessments, interpreting results, and helping individuals create action plans for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Building and maintaining relationships with campus partners and stakeholders. This involves working with leaders and subject matter experts to identify development needs and represent the Training and Organizational Development team in various campus-wide projects.
  • Administrative and Organizational Skills: Strong administrative skills to oversee program and service delivery processes. This includes establishing workflows, directing program development, and ensuring the smooth operation of the team’s activities.
Expected Salary:

$100,000 to $130,000 commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Position requires strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. 
  • This position also demands a firm commitment to customer service. 
  • Experience managing a team preferred. 
  • Needs to have strong commitment to teamwork.
