The Assistant Softball Coach is critically involved in all aspects of the softball program, is given specific autonomy, assists the Head Coach in key areas of the program such as recruiting, coordination of play (e.g., Pitching Coach), coaching tactics/strategies, budget management, staff oversight, etc.; has significant responsibility in the following areas, but not limited to: on field duties of hitting, infield or outfield, pitching; identification and recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; supporting the academic progress of student-athletes; fostering the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes; mentoring assistant coach(es); scheduling and team travel; coordinating and administering special softball events and camps; promotion of the team and University; fundraising and alumni events; practice planning; managing and supervising facility maintenance; equipment purchase/inventory; paperwork; video and scouting; professional development; assists the Head Coach in establishment/enforcement of team rules, community service efforts, etc.; represents the Head Coach at meetings, fund-raising functions, and alumni events; adheres to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations while supporting the core values of intercollegiate athletics. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.

The full salary range for the Assistant Softball Coach is $49,800 - $84,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $75,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
