Position Summary
Provides administrative support within the Department of Emergency Medicine. This is a hybrid position requiring two days a week on campus with the flexibility of additional days on campus as needed for special projects.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Director of Wellness. Acts as a liaison and represents the department in university-wide DEI and wellness initiatives.
  • Provides administrative support for the Director of Simulation. Collaborates and coordinates with the simulation tech on complex projects, education, and running the department simulation labs.
  • Provides administrative support, including calendar scheduling and management, coordinating lectures, taking meeting meetings, scheduling travel and other engagements for the education faculty within the department.
  • Distributes the department faxes via the electronic fax box folder.
  • Schedules and serves as a liaison to assist faculty; coordinates faculty recruitment efforts, faculty reviews, and faculty records, etc.
  • Maintains liaison with all levels of administration to coordinate department business, accomplish directives, and facilitate the resolution of problems.
  • Responsible for the scheduling, planning, and facilitating of various departmental events and sponsored symposiums. This includes all details associated with event; manage event budget, negotiate with vendors; oversee, troubleshoot and resolve special situations that arise during event.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with a broad and diverse range of people.
  • In-depth knowledge of office procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
  • Five years of relevant experience with administrative or budgetary support.
  • Combination of education/experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office suite.

Salary Range
$22.92 - $35.49 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
