Job Summary
ETSU is accepting applications for an Accountant 2 in the Office of Tax and Revenue Services on the Main Campus. 
This position is responsible to the Assistant Bursar for the day-to-day functions of the Bursar’s office such as supervising cashiers; processing student refunds; Liaison with Athletics and Financial Aid Offices; maintaining and reconciling external scholarships; assisting cashiers with tuition and fee payments; counseling and assisting students on student billing and payment related issues; verifies and finalizes daily cashier deposits; completes IRS Form 8300’s; coordinating coding between Bursar, Accounting, and Financial Aid to assist in data integrity in student accounts and related records; acts as backup in absence of the Assistant Bursar and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and computer applications to accounting.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations, laws, policies, and procedures for financial aid programs.
  • Knowledge of basic contract law.
  • Knowledge of computers, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work schedules.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees, students, and staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a business-related field by time of hire
  • three years of accounting and computer experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Salary $46,515
