Job Description

Under general supervision an Access Control technician is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of the ASU access control system, closed circuit television (CCTV) and security systems hardware and software. Technician will service devices such as; locking hardware, conduit, power supplies, cable pathway systems, firestop systems, various electronic components, and various cable that includes but is not limited to: twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded cable and solid conductor low voltage cable.

Salary Range

$52,000 - $58,000 per year; DOE


Essential Duties

Maintain and service the Lenel access control system plus assist in maintenance of GENETEC CCTV system. Must have basic knowledge of commercial grade door hardware such as: Von Duprin, Schlage, ASSA Abloy and Best Precision. Needs to be able to troubleshoot networks and low voltage power supplies and assist in performing preventative maintenance and repair for cameras and supporting equipment. 


Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree or technical degree and one year of technical installation and maintenance of security systems and equipment experience, OR a two-year technical certificate and one year of security system installation and maintenance experience OR 3 years of field tech experience. Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license upon employment and maintain throughout employment.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%).
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds 15 percent.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Lift, bend, climb ladders extending to a height of 24 feet and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Activities may involve working in extreme weather conditions; hot in the summer and cold in the winter; walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • This position will require driving a golf cart and vehicle
