Academic Technology Specialist, IT Analyst, Fuqua School of Business

The Academic Technology Specialist ( IT Analyst,  level C) position works directly with faculty and colleagues on instructional design, pedagogy and course-related website development.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage and support EMBA, Daytime, MMS, Ph.D, DKU, MQM, Online MQM course sites using Canvas LMS
• Collaborate with faculty to understand online course plans including necessary materials and teaching approaches
• Consult with faculty on course content display
• Train faculty and staff on Canvas LMS functions and site maintenance
• Assist with student and faculty Canvas LMS guides/documentation
• Implement and manage course site templates
• Collaborate with the technical team to test, document and demonstrate new academic software applications and tools
• Collaborate with faculty, students and staff to test new learning management systems
• Collaborate with faculty, students and staff on innovative uses of technology

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with additional experience in instructional design and Canvas LMS Administration
• Instructional design expertise with insights about technology trends and solutions
• Experience with web authoring tools, multimedia tools, presentation software, streaming video in an academic environment
• Knowledge of learning management systems and other tools widely-used for teaching
• Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Problem-solver with the ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical terms
• Ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people within an academic community
• Evidence of ability to generate faculty enthusiasm for and engagement in the use of new technologies for teaching
