Job Description:

Performs laboratory testing of human biological samples for diagnostic purposes using various
methodologies. Testing includes, but is not limited to, operation of state of the art automated chemistry,
immunoassay, hematology, and coagulation systems and performing various clinical laboratory assays
using automated and/or manual methods. Assists with all aspects of operation in their area of specialty
including preparation and maintenance of records and reports, analysis of testing methodologies, training,
instrumentation and compliance.

Participate in the overall maintenance of the laboratory. Purchase supplies, maintain instruments and
equipment and comply with all laboratories policies and procedures. Responsible for all routine
documentation associated with the performance of laboratory testing; includes reporting results and all
quality control documentation. Meets all safety and regulatory requirements.

Participate with other technologists, in development of tests under general supervision of Lab manager
as defined by the laboratory director.

Maintains chemical and biohazard inventories and databases, keeping supply inventory and ordering,
recording equipment temperatures, ensuring that maintenance is performed maintenance records are
completed and reviewed, This position also helps in writing procedures, ensures that CAP, safety and
regulatory requirements, assists with development and usage of UFHPL databases and information
systems. Assists with coordination for proficiency surveys. Ensures that chemical and biological hazardous materials are adequately maintained, stored, and disposed of in a safe and appropriate manner.

Expected Salary:

starting salary range is between $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree in an appropriate area and four years of related experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Science. Knowledge of CP Triage, Processing, Send Outs and Core lab
workflow.
