Job Description:

Course Scheduling
Maintains Course Scheduling System for Engineering-General, Engineering Education, Computer Engineering, and EDGE.  Coordinates the course offerings each semester with COE department representatives.  Create section numbers and attach proper Special Program codes.  Works with Coordinator of Broadcasting and department to schedule courses in 7 UF EDGE studio classrooms to optimize room use and desired course times for departments.  Work with the Registrar and the College to schedule classrooms for Engineering-General, Engineering Education, and Computer Engineering courses.  Input instructors, grade authorization, setup course evaluations, collect textbook adoptions for Engineering-General, Engineering Education, and Computer Engineering courses.  Handle room scheduling and assembly exams (TAXI) for Department faculty.
Distance Learning

Creates and associates appropriate web course percentages and distance learning fees in the UF distance learning fee online systems each semester.  Works with the UF Division of Continuing Education for appropriate DL fee and section coding issues; including HonorLock.  Provides data to College Administration for budget purposes.  Setup template LMS sites for EDGE courses.  Attends and remains current in all UF related training for distance learning fees and scheduling.
Assistant to the Department Chair
Supports the Department Chair, including maintaining calendars, developing, and tracking budgets, drafting, or preparing correspondence, and organizing program activities.  Backup for Department phone answering and visitors.

Performs related work as assigned and required to assist in the efficient operation of the office.  Additional duties as assigned.


Expected Salary:

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour; commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and seven years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

  • Must be articulate and have a good command of the English language. Proficient writing skills and the ability to compose correspondence, edit, and proofread.
  • Must be punctual and maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Consistently demonstrate personal initiative: display interest in the overall well-being of the Department and the College.
  • Knowledge of fiscal transactions.
