Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an intermediate-level IT Business Analyst to join Application, Development, and Integrations, a unit within UFIT.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other dedicated employees focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

Application, Development, and Integrations maintains and operates the software that powers UF’s enterprise-wide computer systems, creating the technological foundation for the campus’ academic and administrative business functions.

Application, Development, and Integrations is looking for skilled IT business analysts who enjoy using their creative talents to produce business solutions that address the needs of the central student administrative units at UF.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Assisting in crafting short and long-term business solutions for complex student system problems
  • Eliciting requirements and documenting new and existing business processes, procedures, and setups
  • Providing application support in a 24/7 environment
  • Conducting impact analysis of enhancements, upgrades, and other system changes, including participating in Quality Control (testing) and Change Management life cycle
  • Assisting in configuration setting maintenance and functional documentation

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$70,000 – $80,000; commensurate based on education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Functional experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or comparable enterprise student solutions in Higher Education
  • Technical skills, including familiarity with Oracle/SQL and business analysis skills such as process analysis, requirements elicitations, and testing procedures.
  • General technical skills/education, including Microsoft Office, Teams, and Visio
  • Experience with Canvas, EMS, Ad Astra, Slate, CASHNet/Transact a plus
  • Have good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Be a self-starter requiring limited direct supervision in a busy multiple-priority environment
