About this role

We are looking to appoint a Programme Officer for a new programme, INSIGHT (Inspiring Students into Research) funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR). UWE Bristol and Bournemouth University will be working together with partner organizations to deliver the NIHR INSIGHT programme for the Southwest Central region, an area that spans from Gloucestershire to Dorset.

The purpose of the NIHR INSIGHT programme is to deliver an innovative engagement programme to attract health and care professionals into research careers and to provide Research Masters training to health and social care professionals.

The Programme Officer will be a key member of the Southwest Central Insight programme team. This individual will work with the team to ensure successful delivery and achievement of the outcomes of the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme.

The postholder will contribute to effective programme management, develop and deliver administrative processes, maintain and build partnership relationships for delivery of the programme. This post provides a unique opportunity to work across Higher Education Institutes and with external partners for the duration of the programme.

The post is a 3 year part-time (0.4FTE) fixed term post and is available for immediate appointment.

About you :

You will have a range of skills and experience that will enable you to be successful in this post. You will enjoy working with people as part of a team and will be an excellent written and verbal communicator. You will have excellent organisational and IT skills which may include some experience of website or web-based tools.

You will have knowledge of effective administrative processes and project management. You will be able to use your initiative to manage your workload and activities. Experience of working in higher education institutes and knowledge of health-related educational or research environments would be advantageous.

Where is this role based?

As the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme will be delivered by UWE Bristol and Bournemouth University, there is flexibility to be based at either UWE Bristol or Bournemouth University. You will be employed by UWE Bristol and hybrid and online working will be part of this role.

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre.

This is a part-time, fixed-term post for 36 months, working 15 hours per week.
