We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher for Ethics & Solidarity in Global Health, reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr Caesar Atuire, with responsibility for the provision of research support for a Wellcome Trust Funded research project titled “Moving Beyond Solidarity Rhetoric in Global Health: pluriversality and actionable tools
You will be responsible for managing your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will prepare working theories and analyse qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining theories as appropriate. Additionally, you will act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on methodologies or procedures, and contribute to teaching on the MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine, including supervising students and supporting placement projects.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a relevant subject such as Social Sciences, Philosophy, International Relations, Global Health, Economics, Policy and Public Engagement related subjects. You will have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes, and be able to manage your own academic research and associated activities. Experience of research communication through social media sites is required for this role. You will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings, and international experience of collaboration with colleagues from different parts of the world would be desirable.
