The role

These on campus roles offer an exciting opportunity to join the Library Customer Services Team to support the of study space, services, and resources across the weekends. You will be part of a team that welcomes and supports those using libraries or study centres.

Role 1 Open Ended

Saturday and Sunday, 09:45-14:00, 40 weeks a year (8.5 hours per week)

Role 2 Fixed Term Contract until 16/6/2024

Saturday and Sunday, 13:00-17:15, 40 weeks a year (8.5 hours per week)

Role 3 Fixed Term Contract until: 31/07/2024*

Saturday and Sunday, 07:45-11:00 (6.5 hours per week)

Role 4 Fixed Term Contract until 31/07/2024*

Saturday and Sunday, 11:00-14:45 (7.5 hours per week) 

These posts are required to work all Bank Holidays and University Closure Days that fall within the work pattern including additional exceptional UK Bank Holidays. Please note work patterns are not negotiable.

What will you be doing?

With a focus on excellent customer service, your responsibilities will include reshelving and processing returned books; providing roving support from help points across public spaces and working on the Welcome Desk. A key element will be to work alongside other team members to ensure a consistent level of accessible and inclusive service delivery.

You should apply if

You have excellent communication and customer focus skills and experience of working in a fast-paced, front facing service environment. You can triage basic IT issues and are able to clearly record any queries that need to be referred on to other teams.
