Salary: Grade 4. Appointments for this role will generally be made at £27,142 (Liverpool) or £30,142 (London). Please note, for internal applicants the salary will be reflected by pay and award policy

Working arrangements: Full time (35 hours per week) Standard working hours between 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working, with a minimum of 6 days per month in the office

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, organised and experienced senior administrator to the role of consultation manager within the committee services section of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

Purpose and scope

The role has a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Providing dedicated support to the RCP consultation response process where you will coordinate the RCP response to external requests for its views on clinical, professional and policy issues, endorsement/logo requests and expert nominee requests. This process looks to provide timely, expert advice to external bodies who are seeking RCP opinion.
  • Other duties involve providing excellent management and secretariat support to a range of allocated committees. Experience in this area is desirable but not essential as training will be available for the right individual.
  • Overall, you will act as the key contact for information and advice, ensuring the effective flow of information with internal and external stakeholders and provide briefings for high level individuals.
  • You will also assist with the delivery of specific projects and wider governance issues.

About you

  • You will have excellent communication skills
  • Show great attention to detail and be able to interpret complex information in order to identify key issues, problem solve and make decisions.
  • You will have experience in managing multiple deadlines and activities
  • Produce clear and accurate drafts (eg letters, reports, minutes) to agreed timelines.
