About the role 

Staffordshire University is currently one of the largest providers of degree apprenticeships with work-integrated learning central to the university’s vision for next generation education, experience, and engagement.  

Acting as the first contact point in the provision of a confidential, professional support service and providing a comprehensive coordination and administration service to the Apprenticeship recruitment  business development team to actively ensure business development managers/ officers are supported to deliver benefits to students and Academic Schools and employers. The post holder will coordinate the promotion of apprenticeships with both students and employers.  The role requires individuals to play an active role in events supporting Apprenticeship recruitment. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Be the fist point of contact for apprenticeship recruitment enquiries internally and externally
  • Process and allocate incoming apprenticeship recruitment enquiries
  • Process leads generated by wider team and allocate to Business Development Officer (BDO)
  • Support the on boarding and application process for all apprenticeship starts generated via the recruitment team
  • Checking of certificates and eligibility; for example Maths and English qualifications to comply with ESFA funding rules
  • Liaising regularly with the wider apprenticeship team across the university 
  • CRM user – inputting leads and opportunities, creating new accounts and adding/updating information in readiness for initial meeting with the BDO
  • Supporting BDO’s with administration and operational support 
  • Attending external and internal events for the promotion of apprenticeships
