IT Services provide centralised facilities to the entire University, including 5000 managed PC’s, 2500 IP telephones, server hosting and corporate applications. Both Business services and IT infrastructure to support student learning.

We are now looking for an experienced Network Technician with Telecomms skills, you will be responsible for assisting the Telecommunications Manager in the day to day running of a busy VoIP Telephony network.

Responsibilities:

  • Administration of the Mitel Mivoice for Business platform to include setting up Ring/Hunt groups, Voicemail, Contact Centre and Switchboard applications.
  • Working closely with IT colleagues to resolve Helpdesk tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • End user training and support both remotely and on site.
  • Assist the Telecommunications Manager in the testing and implementation of emerging Technologies e.g. Microsoft Teams for Voice.
  • Installation of VoIP phones and analogue adapters including setting up of VLAN’s and routers to connect devices to appropriate servers.

 You will have:

  • Experience in a similar role supporting IP Telephony.
  • Knowledge of Mitel VoIP Telephony or similar product.
  • Experience in a HE environment.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Local Area Networking, qualification desirable.
