UCL’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is a top-ranked Computer Science Department in the UK. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) evaluation, UCL Computer Science was ranked second in the UK for research power and first in England.

We are an experimental department and computer science sits at the nexus of a broad range of interdisciplinary collaborations across UCL.

We are now recruiting Associate Lecturer (Teaching) positions to support our developing education portfolio in Robotics & AI, based in our new UCL East Campus.

The post-holder would be expected to teach modules on several MEng/MSc programmes in the context of Robotics & AI and to contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum and associated administrative tasks.

Areas that we aim at covering include but are not limited to: AI in Robotics; Electronics and Embedded Systems; Signal Processing; Mechanical Engineering; Mechatronics and Making; Reinforcement Learning, with interest to ground, mobile, aerial, underwater, and manipulation robots.

To apply, we require two submissions. First, please submit a CV, of no more than 6 pages, which includes a list of your teaching experience and your roles and responsibilities in the modules/courses you have taught.

Second, please submit a single supporting document, of no more than 10 pages, which includes your personal, teaching, research and diversity statements.

You should have a PhD in Robotics, AI, or a closely related field and be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding across a range of core topics including robotics, control, machine learning, sensor fusion, and other topics related to real-world deployment of robotic systems.

Lecturer (Teaching) Grade 8 - £51.474 to £60,521 including London Allowance

Associate Professor (Teaching) Grade 9 - £61,923 to £67,259 including London Allowance

Appointment at Associate Professor Level will be dependent on experience and evidence of meeting additional essential criteria required for the role.

Salary: 

Lecturer (Teaching) Grade 8 - £51.474 to £60,521 including London Allowance

Associate Professor (Teaching) Grade 9 - £61,923 to £67,259 including London Allowance
