Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC have about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

Cancer Stroma Crosstalk research group led by Kaisa Lehti studies the impact of acellular and cellular tumor microenvironment components and properties in general and context-dependent mechanisms of cancer invasion, metastasis, and drug resistance. We together form a multicultural and dynamic group with many Nordic and other international collaborators.

Your mission

We are looking for a highly motivated and lab-experienced research assistant for the Lehti group. The successful candidate will work within projects that aim to 1) generate proteomic and transcriptomic profiles of cultured patient-derived cancer-associated fibroblasts, and 2) to investigate the impact and mechanisms of cancer-associated fibroblast secretome and related receptor signaling in regulating anti-cancer therapy resistance. The research assistant is expected to have previous experience in experimental performance, collection and analysis of data, and representation of the results. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the research team and international collaborators to achieve scientific goals.

Your profile

An enthusiastic and driven person interested in our area of research and eager to explore the functions of tumor microenvironment in chemoresistance.
