The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC have about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

Current projects involve antibody discovery, vaccine design, building models of molecular evolution, and various applications of deep learning.


Your mission

You will support research in the lab, with:

  • Standard molecular biology, such as cloning, PCR, etc.
  • Protein expression in mammalian cells, managing cell lines, etc.
  • Protein purification (affinity and SEC).
  • Various assays.

Your profile

Requirements for the position:

  • An educational background (at least an undergraduate degree) in biology, medicine, or equivalent field.
  • Clear written and spoken communication in English is required.

In addition to the aforementioned requirements, extensive practical experience and familiarity with the following techniques is required;

  • Standard molecular biology, such as cloning (eg. by Gibson assembly), PCR, etc.
  • Mammalian cell culture.
  • Protein expression in mammalian cells.
  • Protein purification (affinity and SEC).
  • Pseudovirus neutralization assays.
  • Specific experience with antibody expression and purification.
