Division

The position is available in the Pan Hammarström Lab (https://ki.se/en/research/groups/pan-hammarstrom-lab ), which is part of the Division of Immunology under the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics . The research group focuses on B cell in both normal physiology and disease pathology. Currently, there are four main topics in the group, including the development and diversifications of B cells, the discovery of therapeutic targets in B-cell lymphomas, the genetics of primary immunodeficiency, and antibody therapy against COVID-19.  The team is interdisciplinary, comprising biologists, and computational biologists who collaborate to explore cutting-edge questions in B-cell immunology and malignancy. We offer a stimulating scientific environment and a top research infrastructure both locally, at the department level, and institution level.

Duties

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with an interest in B-cell related diseases. The successful candidate will be involved in relevant projects related to B-cell malignancy, by contributing bioinformatic analysis on NGS data. The main task is to understand the development and progression of B-cell tumors and develop prognostic tools aiming at improving patient management through the analysis of large-scale sequencing data. The role represents an exciting opportunity to make an impact in the fight against cancer and contribute to the field of precision medicine.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be met at the time the employment begins.

Preference will be given to the candidate who has:

  • Academic qualification in bioinformatics and medical science-related fields.
  • Research experience in B-cell immunology, tumor biology, and cancer genomics.
  • Advanced skills in NGS data analysis, especially in the analysis of WGS, WES, and single-cell DNA/RNA sequencing, immune repertoire sequencing data.
  • Experience in prognostic modelling and the development of online tools.
  • Proficiency in Linux systems, computational server management, Python, and R programming.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
