Offer Description
Católica Biomedical Research Centre (CBR, Universidade Católica Portuguesa) hereby announces the opening of an international call for applicants for one vacancy of Lab Technician in the scientific field of Biology and related areas.
The research activities will be carried out at the CBR, currently installed at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência Campus, Rua da Quinta Grande 6, Oeiras.
The position is open within the framework of the 3D Gene Regulation & Development lab, funded by Católica Biomedical Research Centre (CBR) and led by Professor João Raimundo.
Description of the research activities:
1- Management and maintenance of transgenic of transgenic Drosophila lines ( maintenance of stocks, genotyping, crossing lines;
2- Performing live bioimaging using confocal microscopy of Drosophila embryos;
3- Carrying out the molecular cloning of bioimaging tools designed with the supervision of the principal investigator;
4- Supporting researchers in carrying out procedures;
5 - Generation of transgenic fly lines through microinjection of Drosophila embryos.

Skills/Qualifications
- Degree in the field of biological sciences.
- At least 1 year of experience of lab work.
- Motivation to work with Drosophila.
- A love for the scientific field.

- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proactivity, autonomy and critical thinking.
Specific Requirements
- Experience in maintenance and management of Drosophila stocks.
- Experience with molecular biology cloning protocols.
