Research Manager - Focus on Information

Your Job:

  • You will oversee the focus area "Information" and support corporate development department as well as the board of directors in questions concerning the strategic alignment of the area and the assessment of national and international developments
  • You coordinate the activities for the specified research topic at the interface between research-related and administrative areas
  • You will play a crucial role in the preparation and monitoring of programmes within the framework of programme-oriented funding of the HGF
  • You will compile basic data for the HGF review procedures that take place at regular intervals and coordinate their implementation on site
  • Conducting environmental analyses and developing recommendations for action will also be part of your portfolio, as well as preparing and following up the relevant committee meetings and following up on the decisions taken
  • You will demonstrate your cooperative skills in managing appointment negotiations and ad-hoc tasks in the resource planning of the institutes
  • Your responsible tasks will be rounded off by the conceptual and operational support of the management in special strategic tasks

Your Profile:

  • You have successfully completed a Master`s degree in natural sciences or engineering and preferably a PhD and furthermore ideally already have good knowledge of science management and committee work
  • You have already acquired basic knowledge and work experience in at least one of the subject areas of the HGF research field Information
  • You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary, science-related environment at the interface between science, administration, business and research policy and familiarising yourself with complex topics
  • You are characterised by your strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and an independent and structured way of working
  • You are a strong communicator and are characterised by engaging manners
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills as well as your business fluent German and English round off your profile (please note that fluent written and spoken German skills are absolutely necessary to successfully fill this position)

The position is for a fixed term of 2 years. Salary and social benefits will conform to the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund), pay group 13, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and the precise nature of the tasks assigned to them.
