Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 21 Oct 2021

We are looking for an excellent researcher who will complement and extend further the expertise in theoretical particle physics at the institute and will be able to cover the field of theoretical physics in his/her teaching activities. We expect the research focus to be hadron physics and/or flavor physics using first-principles non-perturbative methods (e.g. lattice gauge theory, functional methods,…). Furthermore, the candidate is expected to establish a connection with at least one of the relevant experimental activities in this field at Austrian institutes, e.g. CMS (HEPHY and Vienna University of Technology), BELLE II (HEPHY) or ALICE (SMI). Concerning their teaching duties the successful candidate is expected to teach regular theoretical physics courses as well as special topics close to actual research for master and PhD students, including the supervision of theses. The University of Graz and the Graz University of Technology will join their physics institutes into a combined “Graz Center of Physics”. The successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to this effort and collaborate with the participating groups. We also expect gender mainstreaming skills.
