Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Software Engineer, eResearch Project to join Digital Business Solution, Administrative Division.

Want to see your work have a real world impact? Join the QUT eResearch team as we embark on a major internal services and infrastructure uplift. You will work closely with the Software Development, DevOps and SysOps teams using Agile methodology, to develop key software deliverables to advance the researcher journey. We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with Agile project delivery and Jira software, with experience in full stack development and delivery into containerised environments.

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree, with at least four 4 years subsequent relevant experience within an information technology area.
  • Demonstrated software development experience with web frameworks (like Nestjs, Flask, Spring Boot), Relational Databases, NoSQL, API Integration, front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, Angular) and Unix/Linux systems.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and proven success in liasing with stakeholders to understand the required functionality and features of systems or software. 
  • Proven software development skills including the use of version control, configuration management, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) in an Agile Environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish positive working relationships with team members and internal and external clients. 
  • Proven track record in time and organisational management, resulting in delivery of competing priorities in a timely manner.
