About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a Ventures Program Officer to support the development and delivery of a number of UQ entrepreneurship programs, with a particular focus on initiatives for current and future students. The position will also contribute to additional events and outreach activities designed to raise awareness of Ventures and to strengthen the UQ entrepreneurship eco- system.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the delivery of key Venture programs

  • Coordinate strategic insights into the evolution of Ventures programs and support the ongoing implementation of the Entrepreneurship Strategy, including participation on relevant working groups and contributing to identify strategic initiatives

  • Coordinate marketing and recruitment activities with the aim of building awareness of Ventures and the broader entrepreneurship eco-system

  • Oversee the coordination of ideation and validation entrepreneurship programs aimed at expanding the suite of entrepreneurship offerings at UQ

  • Design, coordinate and facilitate Innovation Challenges, as required

  • Provide operational support to Ventures programs and work with relevant team members to improve systems and processes that capture key Ventures participation and outcomes data

  • Provide support to new course development programs that involve topics such as Design Thinking, agile methodologies and/or systems thinking Methodologies

  • Build entrepreneurship networks within UQ to connect students from various disciplines

  • Engage and connect UQ Ventures with the entrepreneurship ecosystem locally and globally

This is a Full-time,100% FTE, Continuing position. At HEW Level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099.39 - $94,512.08 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,076.28 – $110,579.13 per annum. 



About You
  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience in business or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating workshops to tertiary environments

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to prepare complex documentation, and communicate with diverse groups within and external to the University

  • Knowledge of the current and emerging issues in Australian and International tertiary education sector, as well as an understanding of the Australian Government’s objectives for entrepreneurship and innovation

  • Demonstrated experience in designing entrepreneurship and/or sustainability programs for a tertiary education institution

  • Knowledge of, and experience in, entrepreneurial skills and mindset development content and methodologies

  • Ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, organisation structures and functions, or capacity to rapidly gain such knowledge
