Full time opportunity
The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility (APPF) was established in 2009 under the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) to develop a globally collaborative plant phenomics capability that provides leadership in infrastructure, skills and service for agricultural research and industry to maximise the productivity in Australia’s unique and variable environment.
Based out of the beautiful Waite Campus, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technical Officer, Horticulture to assist in the preparation and management of high-throughput phenotyping experiments, programming of phenotyping infrastructure, maintenance of plant growth (including in PC2 and biosecurity areas), pest management, waste disposal and cleaning, stock monitoring and maintaining accurate records. The role will liaise with researchers and facility users to establish project requirements, address queries, and provide project updates as needed.
To be successful you will need:
Qualification/s:
- Tertiary qualifications in horticulture, plant science, science with relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience in greenhouse and plant maintenance in a research environment; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
