QUT You - Seeing Me Seeing You: Skills for a diverse world

QUT You is a university wide curriculum that has been developed for our undergraduate students to provide a transformative experience that enables students to create positive impacts of broader society whilst fostering a sense of belonging and connection.  QUT005 Seeing Me Seeing You: Skills for a diverse world is one of the new QUT You offerings designed to provide students with the skills to become more culturally aware in their communication and to express themselves confidently and respectfully Teaching will begin on the 22nd April and finish at the end of semester.

We are looking to sessional academics who can support the teaching of this large unit. Specifically, we are looking for people with knowledge in areas such as cultural safety, reflective practice, communication skills, diversity, inclusion and advocacy.

Successful applicants will have the following:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in teaching & learning (in any discipline)
  • Demonstrated expertise in the broad areas of cultural safety, communication skills, diversity, advocacy and/or equivalent fields.
  • Ability to deal professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds using effective interpersonal skills with a proven capacity to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism, act with direction and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
