About the Role

The Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences seeks an exceptional individual to support the Master of Applied Psychology program, involving teaching, internship coordination, and research project facilitation. The role entails fostering partnerships with internship hosts, managing student experiences, and contributing to applied psychology instruction and curriculum development. Reporting to Associate Professor Cassie Hayward, the appointee will also have opportunities for personal research development while upholding the school's ethos and university policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with existing and potential future internship hosts
  • Working closely with the Master of Applied Psychology course convenor to ensure quality control for internship experiences
  • Carrying out associated teaching responsibilities including marking and subject coordination
  • Participating actively in ongoing curriculum development for the Master of Applied Psychology 

Who We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong teaching skills, organisational abilities, and effective communication, alongside flexibility and a commitment to the university's mission. Desirable qualities include experience in applied psychology, work outside academia, and success in internship coordination.

You will also have:

  • A completed PhD in psychology
  • Demonstrated teaching and curriculum development skills, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and an ability to contribute to the teaching program in the Master of Applied Psychology
  • Evidence of well-developed organisational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
