Visiting Grad Student – Center for Virtual Imaging Trials (CVIT)

The Center for Virtual Imaging Trials (CVIT) and Carl E Ravin Advanced Imaging Laboratories are seeking a candidate to fill the position of Visiting Grad Student.  Ravin Labs is a leading lab of imaging research focused on the development and application of advanced imaging techniques. Within Ravin Labs, the Center for Virtual Imaging Trials aims to develop and provide a comprehensive virtual platform to assess the clinical performance of medical imaging technologies or applications from design to use. In its first phase, the Center focuses on Computed Tomography (CT).  The Center will provide essential resources to optimize the design and use of CT technologies for improved human health.

Occupational Summary

An individual who is enrolled as a graduate student at an institutions other than Duke University, but who, as part of their educational program, serve a fellowship/internship or otherwise participate in activities in a student capacity at Duke. This classification is intended for use with object code 6020, and is administered on campus by the Provost's Office and in the Medical Center through the Office of the Chancellor for Health Affairs. It is not subject to the Wage and Salary system.

Work Performed

Primary responsibilities will involve:

- Modeling photon-counting detectors

- Benchmarking the model results against experimental data from Trieste

- Reporting the results via written papers and presentations

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
