Job Summary
Entry-level position for students interested in Engineering. Assist with daily operations of the Nanofab, including care and operation of lab equipment. 
Responsibilities
 | Assist Sr. Engineer with daily operations of Utah Nanofab Cleanroom, including inspections, care, and cleaning of laboratory equipment; organize and restock supplies, and maintain orderly and clean going area and lab smocks. Assist lab users with questions regarding safety and user policies, lab access, and computer logging system. During the first year, the student will be directly supporting mundane operations. As the student progresses, more responsibilities will be given to operate and/or repair advanced cleanroom equipment, including periodic process monitoring runs for performance trend charting. Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required: Nearly Continuously: Office environment. Often: Infectious disease, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids), hazards (includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals). Seldom: Exposure to animals. Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
First or second year undergraduate students in Engineering and Science are preferred
 Also preference given to:
 • Work-study eligible
 • Ability to commit to 15+ hours per week, with a flexible schedule during business hours
 • Demonstrated interest in a career within micro-scale devices such as MEMSor semiconductor devices
 • Interest manifest as a desire to remain in this job during the course of the undergraduate academic program Minimum Qualifications: General knowledge of lab safety and cleanroom procedures. Mechanical ability to operate and care for lab equipment preferred. Demonstrate computer skills and effective communication skills with good customer service are required.
