Job Summary
We seek highly motivated students to help support the University Support Services group within the University Information Technology department. The position will mainly provide generalized support for the data management and analytics team and administrative support for the Director of Data Management & Analytics. This will include documentation, task tracking, meeting planning, and other office duties. This position will also support specific tasks in the BI architecture This position will get exposure to every piece of the business intelligence architecture and would be suited for any person looking to understand more about data management and analytics.

Responsibilities
The incumbent will support all team members of the Data Management & Analytics team in their standard daily activities. This will include creation of JIRA tickets and monitoring project status. Shadowing full-time staff to support creation of high quality documentation. Creation and tracking of data definitions in business glossary. Updates to BI web-page. Creation of Tableau dashboards. Following test-cases for security access review of data science workbench. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah Student.
Preference will be given to students with related technical coursework and/or professional experience.
• Deeper understanding and working knowledge of API’s
• Project management, relational database analysis, and advanced relevant programming skills (i.e., R, Python, SQL, etc.)
• Experience with data visualization tools (i.e. Business Objects, Tableau, Qlik, OBIEE, etc.)
• Knowledge of information access and delivery methods, analytics, applications and tool portfolio, data sourcing and integration methods. Understanding of data warehouse, ETL, data cleansing, and architecture. Ability to work independently with light to moderate supervision in various areas of responsibility.
• Excellent problem-solving including research, error detection, root cause analysis, error correction, conceptual, analytical and decision-making skills
