Job Summary
The Utilities Engineering student employee will support UEM’s mission to provide safe, reliable, and resilient utility and energy services to our campus community. The UEM Production and Distribution Departments produce chilled water and steam in three central heating and four central cooling plants, and deliver utilities to the campus through an extensive underground distribution system. Reporting to the Utilities Engineering Manager, the student will assist in engineering solutions for UK’s Heating & Cooling Production and Distribution departments, including safety protocols, code compliance, preventative maintenance, energy efficiency improvements, project development, process improvement, and data acquisition and analysis. The ideal student will be proficient in written and oral communications, comfortable working in a hands-on environment (i.e. heating and cooling plants, underground vaults), and committed to continuous improvement. Students in Mechanical, Biosystems & Ag, Chemical, or Civil Engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.
