Summary of Job Duties:

The Technology Lead for Financial Aid and Scholarships is responsible for supporting the functional needs of the University of Arkansas Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions financial aid module, and assists the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in the transition to Workday Student. This position will perform professional level duties in system analysis, evaluation design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, research, data compilation, and data analysis. The Technology Lead for Financial Aid and Scholarships acts as liaison for the financial aid office and represents its view/needs for data management support within the office and other areas on and off-campus. This position will supervise two technical support staff.
The Technology Lead for Financial Aid and Scholarships evaluates functionality in the Workday Student system and assesses applicability in the student records area, including Financial Aid and more. This involves understanding business needs that are critical to the Financial Aid functions and determining how business processes will need to change to effectively execute these functions. This position will also participate in data conversion and verification. This position works closely with the UAF project manager, campus IT services, the UA System Project One team, campus cyber security team, and campus functional office users.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least five years of experience designing and implementing systems including any of the following: PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, managing security, web-based environments, trouble ticketing systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • At least three years experience with ERP systems, information technology, software applications and/or database administration

Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial aid systems, including querying and extracting data

  • Experience with Oracle BI Publisher and Query Management Tools

  • Experience writing and analyzing scripting programming languages, such as Perl

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; Access preferred

  • Supervisory experience of full-time employees

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong computer skills

  • Analytic skills

  • Strong organizational skills for anticipation and maintenance of tasks involved in yearly aid cycle

  • Excellent communication and management skills

  • Ability to effectively analyze data for the purpose of developing and implementing new strategies and procedures

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
