This position will participate in various office related duties, within departments at TAMUQ; provide administrative and office support at Texas A&M University at Qatar, in an effort to help facilitate various duties within their specified department. This positions provides staff support for a full range of business and office functions. This is for a pool of student applications, and applicants will be contacted should a vacancy open within a department at TAMUQ. What you need to know:

Minimum hourly pay rate: $8.22

Applicants must be located in Qatar, and currently enrolled as a student.

Position Location: This is a part-time student assistant position that is NOT located in the United States.

Required Education:

  • All candidates be currently enrolled, as a student, at a high school or university (or be accepted with the intent to enroll in the upcoming semester)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Proficient knowledge in personal computers with Basic keyboarding and computer skills including use of email and word processing
  • Be able to work independently, as well as be part of a team, and/or collaborate with the diverse community at TAMUQ
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Be able to lift and/or move light to medium sized objects (less than 20 pounds)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist with basic administrative, business and/or academic needs within the department.
  • Answer phone and receive departmental visitors.
  • Printing, copying, scanning, filing and organization of documents.
  • Disseminate departmental material, and run departmental errands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
