Position Purpose
The Office of Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) seeks a motivated student writer/editor ready to enhance their portfolio and experience the higher-education marketing industry firsthand. This person will write and edit marketing copy for publications, ads and websites; plan and execute promotional events; research on special projects and assist IMC’s Integrated Marketing Specialists as needed. This person should have excellent writing, grammar and spelling skills, as well as knowledge of AP style.
  • Will be expected to meet numerous deadlines and projects as assigned.
  • Must have an understanding of UCM’s campus and culture
  • May be required to meet with campus partners as needed
  • Must work with minimal supervision and remain task-oriented
  • Will communicate and work with the student design team to guide the look and feel of a finished product
  • Must have the ability to work without supervision
Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent
Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Other - Microsoft Office
Experience
  • General writing skills required
  • Proof reading skills preferred
  • Knowledge of AP style preferred
  • Must maintain consistent communication with supervisor
  • Must maintain a consistent in-office schedule
  • Must have reliable transportation to campus
