Student Success Fiscal Intern 

This position provides support to the Office of Student Success in budget and financial reporting.  This position is responsible for ensuring that all account maintenance, transaction processing, and reporting related to grant funding and general accounting for the Office of Student Success are processed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable TBR, Federal, and State regulations, policies, and guidelines.


Audit invoices/travel claims for accuracy and payment;

Work with campuses and business offices to ensure reimbursements are filed and paid correctly;

Manage financial reporting and contracting needs;

Coordinate collection of budget information;

Monitor monthly accounting reports and budget compliance;

Ensure all account maintenance, transaction processing and reporting related to grant funding and general accounting provided in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance;

Oversee grants and accounting process;

Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements of the Position

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to develop and monitor complex budgets, monitor expenditures, and create financial reports;

Some knowledge base of office systems, including role and function of organizational administration, essential elements of effective/efficient procedures and protocols;

Understanding of current and relevant knowledge of contemporary financial and accounting rules, laws, and regulations in addition to a solid comprehension of financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and accounting systems;

Professional written and oral communication skills;

Capacity to prioritize and organize effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and expertise to equal at least 3 years;

Experience in an accounting, budgeting, auditing, or accounts payable or related position;

Experience with Windows Application including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Powerpoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a higher education environment;

Experience reviewing budgets and financial statements
