SCAD Atlanta seeks an enthusiastic student success adviser to serve as a primary contact and guide for all undergraduate students and to assist students as they complete their SCAD course of study.

In this full-time position you will deliver high quality, student-centered experiences to retain students, including proactive outreach, tailored programming that aligns with the SCAD mission and value statements, and coordination with various student-oriented departments. You will work with a caseload of around 400–500 students, assigned by major, prior to their matriculation through orientation activities, including Summer Swarm. You will then build relationships with students through the First Year Experience course and continue to monitor each student’s progress through ongoing contact and early alert programming until graduation.

As a student success adviser, you will counsel students on financial aid and academic policies and develop programming to help students learn the university’s software, from MySCAD to web registration navigation and more. You will also partner with department chairs and faculty on advisement, academic policies and advising procedures, catalog proofing, course needs, and curriculum review, among other duties.

The successful candidate demonstrates exceptional organization, time-management, and communication skills. Using stellar interpersonal skills, the candidate should work well in group and one-on-one environments. A strong knowledge of SCAD undergraduate programs is essential.
