Shift | The SSD position is part-time with total of 5-10 hr/wk. Shifts will be scheduled around a successful candidates availability and will be during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) or any time The Study is operating (Monday-Thursday 2pm-10pm and Sunday 4pm-10pm). Some on-call support may also be required during The Study’s operating hours. |
Job Summary | This position is for the Fall 2021 & Spring 2022 semesters with the possiblity of extended further. The position will begin immediately. The Student Software Developer (SSD) will design and implement software to support, improve, and/or expand Transformative Learning server features used by our programs (e.g., The Study, Academic Coaching, APP, and Supplemental Instruction). The SSD will also work to provide recommendations for future software and technology needs for programs and services within Transformative Learning. The SSD will maintain and improve the PHP for The Study web based server and database. This includes some on-call support, bug fixes, and adding new features. The SSD will continue development of a new website for Supplemental Instruction using Angular and C#. The SSD position will also provide occational desktop support (e.g. set-up/installing new technology, trouble shooting issues for staff, etc.) The SSD may also be asked to participate in brainstorming and development of new features as development and programmatic needs change. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | While the candidate is not expected to be familiar with all of the following technologies, it would be beneficial to be familiar with website design. At the very least, the candidate should be familiar with programming concepts and methods enough to be able to quickly learn to use most of the front end languages/frameworks listed.

Preferred Education/Experience | Candidates in applicable degree fields (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering) are preferred. Completion of CS 316 and/or CS 405 with an A or B is highly preferred. |
