Our objective is to effect systemic change in the hiring patterns of Alaska Natives in science and engineering professions.  We begin with students in the sixth grade and prepare them socially and academically to be hyper-advanced when they arrive at the University for science and engineering degrees. Once at the University, ANSEP provides a welcoming environment designed to foster success.  ANSEP is a partnership between industry, state and federal agencies, Native organizations, philanthropic organizations, K12 school districts, and the University of Alaska. We raise the bar for student expectations and measure programmatic effectiveness using academic outcomes. ANSEP student performance exceeds state and national averages at each academic level.  Every successful ANSEP pre-college student is on track to earn the Alaska Performance Scholarship.  There are more than 2,000 ANSEP students in the ANSEP pipeline.  We are rapidly increasing the number of ANSEP students academically and socially prepared for science and engineering BS degrees prior to high school graduation.  ANSEP is the most successful and cost effective STEM program in the nation.
