Summary

The Ray lab at Baylor College of Medicine has two immediate openings for biotech research device development and production. The Ray lab studies the neural circuits governing our behavior and physiology. A major goal in the lab is to automate our assays for measuring behavior and physiology in our genetic animal models for enhanced accuracy and consistency as well as increasing capacity for data collection. Our studies are currently focused on two primary areas, the potential effects of COVID-19 on neural control of breathing and neurological vulnerabilities in the infant congenital disorders such as the sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). 

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience or credit through your home institution can be arranged. Applicants of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. 


Job Duties
  • Works to automate cardio-respiratory assays used to measure breathing in infant and adult mice.
  • Utilizes a wide variety of approaches including CAD/CAM software, 3D printing and CNC milling, Micro-boards, including Arduino and PI with custom written software in Python and Matlab.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.
