Summary
This Student Helper will be working under the guidance of a postdoctoral fellow to perform genetic experiments using Drosophila melanogaster to study the function of TM2D family genes in the nervous system.
Job Duties
- Assists with:
- fly husbandry,
- genetic crosses,
- scoring phenotypes,
- dissection of Drosophila brain,
- immunostaining
- ]confocal imaging related to the project.
- Assists with several molecular biological techniques, such as:
- molecular cloning,
- site-directed mutagenesis,
- Sanger sequencing related to this project
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.
