Summary
Chair of MCB Dr. Peggy Goodell whose lab focuses on the the basic mechanisms that regulate hematopoietic stem cells, and how their misregulation leads to leukemia development. Stem cells reside in the bone marrow in a quiescent state, but rapidly become activated to regenerate the hematopoietic system.
Dr. Goodell is seeking a student helper in support of the research mission of the department to perform laboratory, library, field, computer, or other such activities as may assist the department’s research effort.
Job Duties
- Under immediate supervision, follows established procedures in performing routine duties which may require some decision-making.
- Student must know mechanics and methods of a specific position by having previous training or work experience.
- Samples of duties may include: typing routine assays, preparing media and solutions, general lab experiments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- Experience not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Individual should at least be a high school graduate or freshman in college that has an interest in basic sciences.
